Tribute to Paul McNergney - Founder and Inspiration for GMSS

Your vision, heart, and dedication to making this world, West Michigan, and Muskegon County,
in particular, a better place for all was remarkable, humbling, and inspiring.
Your legacy continues as new food sources emerge and more families
and individuals are able to receive much-needed food, nourishment, and supplies.
Thank you, Paul, our hearts are with you and your family.

About Greater Muskegon Support Services
At Greater Muskegon Support Services (GMSS), we are dedicated to fighting hunger and food insecurity throughout Muskegon County, Michigan. Since 2018, our mission has been simple yet powerful: ensure that no individual or family in our community goes hungry.

We believe access to nutritious food is a fundamental human right. That’s why we work tirelessly—partnering with local food providers, community organizations, and generous donors—to pick up and deliver bulk food to area food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters, making sure resources reach those who need them most.

As the demand for food support grows, GMSS continues to seek both food and financial resources to strengthen our network of partners. Together, we’re building a stronger, more compassionate Muskegon County—one meal, one neighbor, one act of kindness at a time.
